Our Story
Established in 2005....
Event creator/coordinator, Sybil Kuhn, designed an event
where awareness and funds would join together for S.M.A., after she had watched a toddler who was diagnosed with this disorder.

Witnessing first-hand how a disorder, unknown to her, affected this
toddler, Sybils' desire to assist this family and thousands of other families affected with this life altering disease became her mission.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a disease that robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord and taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe.
It is the number one genetic cause of death for infants.
SMA affects approximately 1 in 11,000 births. One in every 50 Americans is a genetic carrier. SMA can affect any race or gender.

There are four primary types of SMA: 1,2,3, & 4, based on the age that symptoms begin and highest physical milestone achieved.

This event, held annually, is a way for communities, families and
friends to come together, celebrating the season, and to be a part of a
great cause! Wreaths of Hope is a one-day event where attendees will find
fresh, pre-made wreaths on hand for purchase AND
encouraged to build their own wreath!
All proceeds will be directly sent to finding a cure for SMA.

Wreaths of Hope is a way to educate the public on this rare disease.
Information will be on hand at this event to learn more about SMA.
